Uzbekistan: Shohruh Shoahmedov has been appointed deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan by the country's president Islam Karimov, it announced today (July 18).

Shoahmedov's career in banking began in 2004 when he started work for Uzbekistan's National Bank for Foreign Economic Activities. He has also served on the board of Ipoteka Bank, as well as working for the head office of the central bank.

Shoahmedov was educated at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, and
