An International Monetary Fund working paper, published yesterday, examines oversight issues that underlie the potential growth and risks in mobile payments, concluding that oversight frameworks to safeguard public confidence and financial stability are "particularly important for low-income countries" where the use of mobile payments is becoming more widespread.

The paper, Oversight Issues in Mobile Payments, by Tanai Khiaonarong, offers five points for establishing an effective oversight
