Hungary rejects leaked conditions for IMF programme
The Hungarian prime minister, Viktor Orbán, has rejected conditions for a joint International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European Union (EU) funding programme.
In comments to Hungarian national radio, published by the government today (September 7), Orbán said based on the requirements, Hungary would not go ahead with the programme. A list of the criteria, leaked to the Hungarian media, included demands for pension cuts, a hike in the retirement age and scrapping the controversial transaction tax
