Norges Bank assesses payments system

The Norges Bank today (May 30) released its Annual Report on Payment Systems 2011, in which some need for improvement was highlighted.

"The Norwegian payment system is efficient, but there is nonetheless room for improvement. New payment services will increase the speed of payment transactions," said deputy governor Jan Qvigstad, introducing the report.

The report shows electronic services are used extensively in the country, with Iceland and Norway currently leading the world in payment card
