IMF candidates battle to win support
The two candidates in the race to become the next managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been working hard to secure support from countries around the world.
Christine Lagarde, the French finance minister, and Mexican central bank governor Agustín Carstens are battling to replace Dominque Strauss-Kahn.
The first stop on both campaign trails was Brazil. Lagarde was there on Monday and Carstens on Wednesday. As the biggest economy in South America, its backing is important
