Liikanen gets nod for second term at Bank of Finland
Erkki Liikanen, the governor of the Bank of Finland, on Friday was confirmed for a second term as head of the central bank.
Finnish President Tarja Halonen reappointed Liikanen, whose term was set to expire on July 11, 2011, as governor of the central bank for a second seven-year term, extending his service at the central bank until July 2018. However, Anita Sihvola, a spokesperson at Finland's finance ministry, told CentralBanking.com Liikanen's appointment "did not rule him out" of the running
