Parliament worries over euro note chaos
Arnd HUCHZERMEIER from the Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Vallendar Germany warned MEPs of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of chaos on 1 January next with many small shops in Germany forced to close within 30 minutes of opening and taxi drivers in Germany stopping work before lunch time owing to a shortage of small change in euros.
Mr Huchzermeier made a special plea for small denominations (5 and ten euro notes) to be available to consumers before 31 December 2001. In
