China and Kazakhstan to co-operate on CBDC research

The two Asian central banks set to carry out joint research and training

The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) and the National Bank of Kazakhstan signed a memorandum to co-operate on the research of central bank digital currencies (CBDC) on Wednesday (July 10).

The two central banks agreed to share knowledge and expertise, carry out CBDC research and develop employee competencies through joint training.

The PBoC’s Digital Currency Institute and Kazakhstan’s National Payment Corporation will participate in the implementation process.
