Covid-19 will not result in CBDC issuance, say central bankers

Central bankers do not think Covid-19 will cause central bank digital currency issuance and development to accelerate.

Panellists speaking at Central Banking’s Fintech & Regtech Virtual Summit on September 16 said the decision to launch a CBDC will not be a “short-term” decision.
