The Central Bank of Hungary (MNB) has told banks to speed up compensation for consumers who lost money due to a glitch with a payment processor related to US tech giant Apple.

Tens of thousands of Hungarians lost around 2 billion forints ($5.47 million) in a two-hour timespan on the evening of June 26, due to a glitch in a third-party service provider for Apple Pay.
