Riksbank updates benchmark rate calculation method
Swestr to become more robust, especially around year-end

Sveriges Riksbank has simplified how it calculates Swestr, the Swedish krona short-term rate, to make it more robust, it announced on June 7.
The Riksbank takes data from its monetary policy counterparties to calculate Swestr. The changes will come into force from September 23.
Under the new methodology, total transaction volume must exceed Skr2 billion ($190 million) to be considered robust, compared with Skr6 billion previously. The Riksbank made the change to reduce the “likelihood of the
