Rates round-up: Peru, Poland and Serbia tighten policy
Moldovan central bank faces commission of inquiry; Uzbekistan partially unwinds earlier hike
Peru: The Central Reserve Bank of Peru raised its policy rate by 50 basis points on June 9, bringing the reference rate to 5.5%. The BCRP began raising rates last August, and this month’s increase is the eleventh consecutive hike.
In its press statement, the BCRP’s board cited a modest increase in year-on-year headline inflation between April and May, from 8% to 8.1%. Core inflation rose to 4.3%, up from 3.8% in April.
