Romania continues monetary tightening
Central bank lifts interest rates by 25 basis points as inflation continues to bite
The National Bank of Romania increased its policy rate today (November 9) by 25 basis points to 1.75%. This was the second consecutive hike by the NBR’s nine-member board, after a 25bp increase in October. The central bank also raised the Lombard rate by 50bp, to 2.5%.
