German inflation to fall again from September, says Bundesbank
One-off effects boosted inflation from 6.3% in May to 6.8% in June
Inflation in Germany should decline from September, the Deutsche Bundesbank said in its latest monthly report, published on July 17.
In June, headline year-on-year inflation in the eurozone’s largest economy increased from 6.3% in May to 6.8%. By contrast, inflation in the eurozone itself declined to 5.5% last month, from 6.1% in May.
But the Bundesbank said this was due to a “one-off” effect on German transport prices. This was created by the government’s introduction in June 2022 of
