Bank of Finland's governor says improved growth and investment prospects have failed to affect inflation

The governor of the Bank of Finland has said “a very substantial degree” of monetary accommodation is still needed in the euro area if inflation is to meet its 2% target.

Speaking at the launch of the latest edition of the central bank’s journal, Euro & talous, Erkki Liikanen noted that despite an uptick in euro area growth, supported by stronger investment, inflation has yet to rise.
