Portuguese governor under ethics review
Centeno embroiled in public spat with the president of Portugal
Bank of Portugal governor Mário Centeno faces an ethics review, after outgoing prime António Costa proposed him as his successor.
Costa resigned on November 7 after prosecutors issued arrest warrants for members of his cabinet and raided government buildings in a wide-ranging corruption investigation.
The Bank of Portugal’s ethics commission will meet this afternoon (November 13) to assess Centeno’s conduct over the last week, a central bank spokesperson told Central Banking. The body
