People: France appoints deputy governor
New deputy governors in Indonesia and Kenya; Dilma Rousseff to lead Brics bank
France: The French government named Agnès Bénassy-Quéré to a six-year term as the second deputy governor of the Banque de France on February 8. She will succeed Sylvie Goulard on February 27. Goulard announced her resignation in December, saying she wished to return to the foreign ministry.
Bénassy-Quéré is currently chief economist at the French treasury. She holds a chair in economics at the Paris School of Economics. She has previous served on several government councils, including the high
