Biden nominates Barr for Fed supervision post
Previous nominee Sarah Bloom Raskin withdrew in March after Republican attacks
US president Joe Biden nominated Michael Barr to be vice-chair for supervision on the Federal Reserve Board on April 15. Barr, currently a professor at the University of Michigan, served in the Department of the Treasury during the presidency of Barack Obama.
Barr is Biden’s second choice for the position, after former Fed governor Sarah Bloom Raskin pulled out of the nomination process. She withdrew in mid-March after Republican party politicians accused her of wanting to use regulatory powers
