Guinea junta replaces central bank leadership
Military president removes governor chosen by his civilian predecessor
Guinea’s military government removed the governor and deputy governors of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG) on December 7 and appointed new management, Guinean media reports.
The president, Mamadou Doumbouya, dismissed governor Lounceny Nabé, who was appointed by the previous president in December 2010, replacing him with Karamo Kaba. Doumbouya also removed deputy governors Baidy Aribot and Thierno Maadjou Sow.
Under the 2017 central bank law, the president names the governor
