Carney takes job on Stripe board

Former BoE governor adds role at fintech firm to growing portfolio of positions

Former Bank of England governor Mark Carney is taking up a new role as a member of the board at Stripe, a payments-focused fintech firm.

The firm, which has headquarters in both Dublin and San Francisco, announced the appointment on February 21.

“As Stripe enters its second decade, Mark’s unparalleled experience of the highest levels of financial services and central banking will be of enormous benefit,” said John Collison, co-founder of Stripe.

The firm provides online and point-of-sale
