People: T&T governor has term extended
Trinidad and Tobago: Alvin Hilaire, governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, has had his term extended by three years.
Finance minister Colm Imbert made the announcement alongside the appointment of the first of three deputy governors. Dorian Noel, who is currently a lecturer at the Department of Government, will take up the post shortly.
Hilaire was first appointed for a five-year term as governor in December 2015, following the dismissal of former governor Jwala Rambarran.
