China: Liu Guiping has been appointed a vice-governor of the People’s Bank of China, state media sources confirmed on December 7.
Liu was president of China Construction Bank before his appointment to the central bank, continuing a common practice in China of rotating senior managers at state-owned banks through the top ranks of the PBoC. The news of his appointment had originally been reported in November by Caixin.
