Lack of diversity signals risks, Irish regulator says

Diversity matters to performance, Rowland says, adding the issue is not restricted to gender

A Central Bank of Ireland senior official said lack of diversity at senior management and board level is “a leading indicator of heightened behaviour and culture risks in financial institutions”.

Speaking at the Women in Leadership Conference today (February 7), the central bank’s director-general of financial conduct, Derville Rowland, said research shows gender diversity matters in relation to firm performance.
