The National Party Congress will vote for the PBoC governor on March 19.

China is set to announce a new central bank governor, as the ruling Communist party announced plans for further significant reforms of its financial regulatory bodies.

Many observers say that Liu He, president Xi Jinping’s economic adviser, is the mostly likely candidate and that Liu could be named governor of the People’s Bank of China and also vice-premier and head of the financial stability and development committee. Liu would be only the second official in China’s history to hold all three
