Sarb celebrates centenary with virtual ceremony
Tributes were paid by former governors, regional representatives and the heads of the IMF and BIS
The South African Reserve Bank celebrated its hundredth anniversary today (June 30) in a virtual celebration attended by former governors and the heads of international organisations.
“The Sarb is a solid institution that all South Africans can be proud of,” said governor Lesetja Kganyago during his remarks. “The women and men who staff this institution have proved their mettle, repeatedly rising to the challenges they are faced with.”
