FCA admits data blunder
Confidential information was published in descriptions of complaints
The Financial Conduct Authority admitted to inadvertently publishing confidential information today (February 25), following a mix-up concerning a freedom of information request.
In a statement, the regulator admitted the data breach had occurred following a request for information regarding the nature of new complaints made against the FCA between January 2, 2018 and July 17, 2019.
The response to the request was published on the regulator’s website in November 2019 and contained details
