Trinidad opposition leader calls for inquiry into central bank
CBTT accused of “cooking the books” with government over discrepancy in public accounts
The leader of the opposition in Trinidad and Tobago on September 9 called for an inquiry into the country’s central bank over a discrepancy in the public accounts.
Kamla Persad-Bissessar, leader of the United National Congress, said in a party meeting that the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) might have been colluding with the government in understating public revenue.
