Fund urges central bank to implement “light” macro-prudential policies

The International Monetary Fund has advised the South Korean authorities to pursue further macroeconomic policies to support growth, concerned the country could be at risk of headwinds.

“Korea is facing headwinds in the short- and medium-term, with risks tilted toward the downside,” IMF representative Tarhan Feyzioglu said on presenting the fund’s latest assessment of the Asian country.
