Bank of Spain inspector denounces supervision interference
Supervisors consider essential creation of body to safeguard independence
The banking supervision carried out by the Bank of Spain before and after the financial crisis was deficient because of the influence of the supervised entities in the process, the secretary of the main association of inspectors at the central bank said on November 15.
In his appearance before the parliamentary commission investigating the financial crisis, José Antonio Delgado Manzanares criticised the conditions under which banking supervision was conducted in Spain.
