National Bank of Georgia launches contest to design currency symbol

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has launched a public competition to design a symbol to represent the national currency, the lari – following in the footsteps of its neighbour to the north, Russia.

The central bank will award 2,000 lari ($1,151.68) to the designer of the winning entry. Submissions are accepted until January 27 – one month after the competition was launched on December 27.
