ECB launches public consultation on mobile payments security recommendations

The governing council of the European Central Bank (ECB) is asking market participants to weigh in on new draft recommendations aimed at enhancing the security of mobile payments.

The recommendations cover all transactions in which a mobile phone is used to make a payment, except when the customer accesses the internet through a web browser, in which case the payment is considered an internet payment and is covered by similar recommendations for payment security.

The ECB primarily wants to know
