New $100 bill the ‘most sophisticated piece of currency' to date, says Fisher
The US Federal Reserve has issued a redesigned $100 note it is hoping will scare off counterfeiters, and help consumers and businesses determine whether their cash is genuine.
The new note, which features a woven ribbon carrying images of the Liberty Bell and the number 100, as well as a colour-changing bell in an inkwell, was circulated by the Fed for the first time yesterday.
In a speech marking the launch of the note, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas president Richard Fisher called the new $100
