Filipino banks offered help after tropical storm

The Central Bank of the Philippines today (August 24) revealed it had implemented regulatory relief measures for banks to enable them to similarly assist and ease the financial burden of bank customers adversely affected by tropical storm Helen.

The storm and severe southwest monsoon had "devastated" several parts of the country this month, the central bank said. The Monetary Board agreed that rural and co-operative banks in eligible areas should exclude existing loans of borrowers in affected
