Gambia receives $11m from IMF
Inflation is easing, but remains well above target
Gambia received $10.95 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of a funding package launched in January this year, the fund said on July 9.
The IMF’s executive board completed the first review of the extended credit facility, worth a total of $98.7 million, bringing total disbursements so far to $21.9 million.
Economic growth in Gambia has been robust, the IMF said, reaching 5.3% last year, thanks to better performance in the agricultural, services and construction sectors.
