Yaron reiterates calls for committee on determining defence budget

Bank of Israel governor Amir Yaron has warned that the continuation of the country’s war with Hamas will significantly affect GDP in the medium term.

Speaking to a cabinet meeting, Yaron said there is also a budgetary risk if the war expands to “additional and more intense spheres”. He was probably hinting at a potential spread of the conflict to include the Lebanese militia Hezbollah or Iran.
