Sweden mulls tighter rules on wholesale forex funding

Swedish banks' dependence on wholesale funding in foreign currencies exposes them to "big risks", the Swedish financial stability council (FSC) concluded in its inaugural meeting earlier this month, underscoring the need for better analysis of "alternative measures" to strengthen financial stability.

Those measures could include a demand on the biggest banks to help finance an expansion of the country's international reserves, ahead of the group's next meeting in May, minutes released today show
