HKMA launches GenAI sandbox
Authority encourages banks to test use cases such as improved risk management and anti-fraud efforts
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has launched a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) sandbox to enable banks to test ways in which the technology might be used.
The sandbox is a joint initiative by the HKMA and the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company. The company manages the territory’s Cyberport business park, which houses start-ups and tech firms.
HKMA chief executive Eddie Yue said the sandbox was aimed at promoting responsible innovation in AI in the banking industry.
