EBA launches register of payment and electronic money firms

Freely available online register brings together national authorities’ data

The European Banking Authority has launched its central registry of European Union institutions that provide payment services and electronic money, it announced on March 18.

The EBA has to collate the information from national competent authorities under the EU’s second payment services directive, or PSD2. The register is freely available on the EBA’s website, and can be searched online or accessed in a machine-readable format.

The data it provides will include the countries where entities are
