UK inflation falls more than BoE had expected

Housing prices fall year on year for first time since 2012, while energy prices also decline

UK headline inflation fell sharply to 4.6% year on year in October, decreasing more rapidly than the Bank of England had forecast.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) released its October consumer price index today (November 15). The figures showed headline inflation had fallen more than two full percentage points from its September reading of 6.7%.
