ESM hails Greece’s progress in third bailout
The country should exit the programme in August as growth accelerates and bond yields fall
The European Stability Mechanism (ESM) approved the transfer of the fourth tranche of Greece’s third bailout programme on January 22, as the country’s economy registers its best performance since the beginning of the debt crisis in 2010.
“After the political green light from the Eurogroup today, at the ESM we are now preparing the disbursement of the fourth tranche to Greece,” said Klaus Regling, managing director of the ESM, after the meeting of the finance ministers of the 19 eurozone
