Bundesbank paper looks at role of carbon emissions disclosures

Obliging firms to increase transparency boosts low-carbon investment, researchers find

Imposing tougher carbon emission disclosure mandates on firms increases investment in “greener” sectors of the economy, a working paper published by the Deutsche Bundesbank finds. 

In The role of emission disclosure for the low-carbon transition, Ivan Frankovic and Benedikt Kolb examine an issue they say previous models have neglected. They look at disclosure mandates, which oblige “firms to publish reliable information on their carbon emissions”.
