Bank of Spain sets out research priorities for 2020–24

Central bank will focus on long-term trends including climate change, digitalisation, ageing and more

The Bank of Spain unveiled its research priorities for the coming four years on October 16.

The central bank will work on five main areas between now and 2024, including traditional topics such as monetary policy, micro- and macro-prudential policies and their interactions. The institution will also extensively work on long-term trends such as climate change, digitalisation, the ageing and geographic concentration of the population, economic and gender-based inequality, as well as structurally
