Eastern Caribbean digital currency remains offline
DCash has been shut down since January 14, as firm says it has “identified problem”
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s digital currency, DCash, has apparently not resumed operations since reporting a service interruption two weeks ago on January 14.
On January 26, the Barbados-based firm Bitt, which provides the blockchain technology used by DCash, confirmed to Central Banking that the system was still offline. Natalie Hartman, Bitt’s vice-president for marketing, told Central Banking that the source of the problem had been identified.
