Uzbekistan introduces new 200,000 som note
Highest denomination banknote designed to ease cash payments
Uzbekistan introduced a new 200,000 som banknote on July 15, replacing the 100,000 note launched in 2019 as the highest denomination. At the official exchange rate, 200,000 som is worth $18.23.
Uzbekistan has, for a number of years, been removing smaller denominations from circulation and introducing higher ones.
New 10,000, 50,000 and 100,000 som bills were introduced in 2017. Since 2020, the lowest denomination banknote has been 1,000 som, after 1 to 500 som denominations were removed from
