New polymer banknotes are greener and cheaper – T&T governor
Central bank plans to review coin denomination usage later this year, Alvin Hilaire says
The governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago says its new polymer banknotes will lower the long-term cost of banknote issuance.
On October 27, Alvin Hilaire announced the release of new $5, $10 and $20 banknotes during an online press conference. The new notes will enter circulation on November 2 and have been printed on De La Rue’s Safeguard polymer substrate.
