Yield curve control risks are manageable – Kuroda
BoJ governor says he shares concerns raised by Ben Bernanke
The Bank of Japan's (BoJ) experiment with "yield curve control" does carry some risks, but they appear to be manageable, governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on October 8.
Speaking in Washington, DC, Kuroda quoted former US Federal Reserve chair Ben Bernanke, who warned on his blog that an attempt to peg long-term interest rates, as the BoJ is seeking to do, could force the central bank to buy very large quantities of assets.
