Nepalese governor sets sights on regional capital market
Khatiwada presentation at last month’s Seacen conference called for links between systems
Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Yuba Raj Khatiwada, has highlighted the importance of building the "necessary market infrastructure" to create a platform for a regional capital market in Asia.
In a presentation at a conference of the South East Asian Central Banks (Seacen) last month, Khatiwada called on his fellow governors to establish links between their national clearing and payment systems, and encourage the creation of regional credit rating agencies.
He also singled out the bond market
