Heng Swee Keat, the managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, said that Asian economies, who entered the financial crisis with different starting conditions, can expect to face different challenges in going forward. Highlighting the speed and strength of the Asian economic rebound, which has seen a 9.4% increase in quarter-on-quarter GDP growth, he warned that the sustainability of this recovery is not a matter of certainty, calling for "carefully calibrated" exit strategies.
