Dutch working paper investigates risk preferences

The Netherlands Bank recently issued a working paper that used new population and survey data on deductible choice in Dutch universal health insurance to study risk preferences over small stakes.

The authors, Janko Gortera and Paul Schilp, find risk preferences are a dominant factor in decision-making.

Their results indicate risk preferences are both "statistically and quantitatively more significant in explaining deductible choice behaviour than risk type", the paper says.
