Sri Lanka releases trading stats as it seeks to develop market

First set of data shows 3.42 billion rupees traded

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has published its first release from a new dataset on government securities traded in the secondary market, the bank announced August 4. 

The "summary trading statistics" are part of a suite of measures designed to help develop the market, the central bank says. They detail the yield rates and volume of each series of securities traded.

On August 4, 34 trades were carried out in the secondary market, with a total turnover of 3.42 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($23.4
